The Penguins Lose Game and Their Minds

This was the exact type of series that the Penguins could not afford to get involved in.  They needed to keep their composure and focus on their game.  The Penguins dolled out their fair share of cheap shots in the game.  That is not the type of team that I enjoy watching.  The Pens are reverting to the Broad Street Bullies.  Inside you'll see the write-up from the game.  I will list what I liked about the game and what I didn't like about the game.

The Penguins lost game three 8-4.  They are now in a 3-0 series deficit.  The Penguins simply cannot compete with this team as they currently are playing.  Are the Flyers more talented?  No.  Do the Flyers have more heart?  Yes, in abundance.  If there were any way we were going to compete, Fleury would have had to win the series for us.  He is really struggling at this point, though.

What I liked
  • Crosby stirring things up to try to light a fire into his team
  • James Neal attempting to put the team on his back
  • Jordan Staal's quiet but strong game
  • Getting an early lead
What I didn't like
  • Crosby having to be the one to try to stir things up
  • Asham's cheapshot on Brayden Shenn (undoubtedly will be suspended)
  • Neal's two high hits on Flyers players (don't be surprised if he's suspended too)
  • Malkin continuing to be invisible
  • Losing an early lead.......again
  • Fleury handing out rebounds like candy and giving up soft goals
  • Terrible passing in the neutral zone
  • How long Fleury was left in even though it was evident that his confidence was shot
  • Neal being allowed to cross the ice after the Assistant Coach from Philadelphia told Wayne Simmons in essence "I don't care what you have to do, fight him".
  • Losing to the Flyers
  • Listening to the Pro-Flyers/Anti-Penguins announcers on NBC (next game will be muted)
Game four will be Wednesday at 7:30.  The Penguins will have to have their heads on straight if they hope to avoid being swept.

  2. Have to get a little humor out of such a dismal performance.
