The Buccos were man-handled by the St. Louis Cardinals last night by a score of 11-2. Jason Davis started the game for the Pirates and gave up 9 hits, 8 runs, 3 walks, and struck out 1 in 3 2/3 innings. He should have been pulled long before he was. Romulo Sanchez came on to pitch 2 1/3 scoreless innings, but Craig Hansen followed, giving up 3 runs in 2 innings.
The offense was once again lacking in production with few exceptions. One exception is Ryan Doumit who played well again, going 3-for-4 and hitting a two-run homerun.
Joey Bats is Traded
Jose Bautista went from the starting third baseman for the Pirates to a bench player to Triple-A and has now been traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named later. The Pirates now have an empty spot on their 40 man roster. Will it be McCutcheon or Walker? We'll have to see.
