The Pirates were able to get a late-inning win, and their affiliates went 1-1. Inside find write-ups for Pirates vs. Diamondbacks, Indianapolis Indians vs. Columbus Clippers, and Altoona Curve vs. Harrisburg Senators.
Pittsburgh Pirates (5-7) won 2-1 over the Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona scored early, with a run in the first. However, that was followed up by 8 scoreless innings thrown by pitchers James McDonald, Brad Lincoln, Chris Resop, Tony Watson, and Juan Cruz. 3B Pedro Alvarez tied the game with a solo shot in the 7th. The Pirates got the win thanks to a two-out RBI single from 2B Neil Walker. Alvarez has only two hits in 27 at-bats with 13 strike outs. However, both of his hits have been homeruns. The Pirates need his bat if they want any shot at becoming a winning team.
AAA: Indianapolis Indians (6-7) won 4-3 over the Columbus Clippers

SP Jeff Locke gave up only one run in 6 innings of work. In contrast, Bryan Morris entered the game in the 7th, pitched to three batters, got zero outs, and was charged with two runs. The corner outfielders led the way on offense for the Indians. LF Starling Marte and RF Brandon Boggs each had two hits. Marte also stole his 7th base of the season.
AA: Altoona Curve (5-7) lost 7-1 to the Harrisburg Senators
WP: Daniel Rosenbaum (2-0) LP: Nathan Baker (2-1)
Harrisburg SP Daniel Rosenbaum threw a complete game, giving up only one unearned run. That run came courtesy of a single by 3B Elevys Gonzalez in the top of the 7th. Harrisburg responded with back-to-back homeruns in the bottom of the inning. C Tony Sanchez had two of the four Curve hits. 2B Kelson Brown and the aforementioned Gonzalez had the other two.
