The Pittsburgh Penguins won 5-2 over the New York Rangers
Winning Goalie: Marc-Andre Fleury Losing Goalie: Martin Biron
Three Stars
1 Evgeni Malkin
2 Chris Kunitz
3 Kris Letang
One of two things was happening in this game. Either Head Coach Dan Bylsma was trying to give Evgeni Malkin a better chance to get to the 50 goal mark, or Bylsma was trying to get Malkin back on track heading into the playoffs. Crosby and Malkin played together for much of the game. It paid off when Malkin scored his 49th goal of the season. Pascal Dupuis also earned an assist to push his point streak to 16 games. That is the longest such streak in the NHL this season. The Penguins played a good game despite James Neal, Steve Sullivan, and Matt Niskanen missing due to injuries. The win secured home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Penguins' last regular season game is on Saturday versus the Philadelphia Flyers. Unless you live under a rock, you are aware of the brawl that happened at the end of the Flyers-Penguins game on Sunday. It will be interested to see how both teams approach this other-wise meaningless game.
