Outcomes from the Indianapolis Indians, Altoona Curve, Bradenton Marauders, and West Virginia Power.
AAA: Indianapolis Indians (0-1) lost 5-1 to Toledo Mud Hens (1-0)
CF Starling Marte went 1 for 4 with a triple. That hit drove in the Indians only run. SP Justin Wilson was a little off. He went 5 innings, gave up two runs, and walked 6.
AA: Altoona Curve (2-0) won 4-2 over the Erie Sea Wolves (0-2)
C Tony Sanchez and 2B Jarek Cunningham both went 2 for 4 with a double each. Cunningham drove in 2 runs. Sanchez drove in 1 run. SS Brock Holt also went 2 for 4 and is hitting .571 very early in the season. RP A
A+: Bradenton Marauders (1-1) lost 5-1 to St. Lucie Mets (1-1)
P AJ Burnett made a rehab start for Bradenton and went 4 2/3 innings, giving up 2 hits, 1 run, and striking out 5. He should be back with the Pirates by the time they need a 5th starter. SS Gift Ngoepe went 1 for 4 with a triple. CF Evan Chambers drove in the Marauders only run.
A: West Virginia Power (1-1) won 5-3 over the Hagerstown Suns (1-1)
RF Josh Bell was a little better. He went 2 for 5, but again struck out 3 times. SP Stetson Allie was just a little off today. He lasted only 1/3 of an inning, walking 4, hitting 1, and striking out 1. He gave up 2 earned runs without giving up a hit and also had 3 wild pitches. Let's hope he can bring down his 54.00 ERA.
